AT HIS FEET
The prophetic focus for the last month of the year is ‘At His Feet’.
Luke 10:38-42 Amplified Bible
38 Now while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received and welcomed Him into her house.
39 And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was listening to His teaching.
40 But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]!
41 But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;
There is something very significant about this story that God wants us to focus on. Intimacy! Mary sat at the feet of Jesus listening to His words. She had taken the lower place in His presence: the position of a student, learning, receiving and being built up and edified by the King of Kings- this is God’s desire for us this month. God is saying that He wants us to be present with Him, hearing His heart, His mind and learning how to walk in true union with His Spirit.
Martha symbolises many of us as Christians today. We are soooo busy with everything but the main thing. Martha was focused on working for Jesus whereas Mary was focused on working with Him; Martha was working for the presence of Jesus but Mary was about to work from the presence! Here in this scripture the Bible says that Martha was distracted by much serving. When your work is absent from the presence then your service becomes a distraction.
How many of us are distracted?
How many of us have our minds and our hearts on other things?
What/who has your attention?
Are we sitting before the King of Kings with every spare moment that we have gazing into his eyes and receiving the words of life or are we distracted with other things?
This month at The Mansion we will be focusing on intimacy, the presence of God, seeking God and building a relationship with Him that distinguishes us in this generation!
